I started this project with an idea and a pencil.
I have consistantly sketched out ideas and worked to scan them into the computer time and time again. I asked the class there opionion on the design and structural elements and that seemingly prompted further design motivation.
I cut the designs out of carboard to get an idea of scale as well as design elements I liked and felt confident in.
I then turned my drawing into vector images through various computer programs including photoshop and illustrator. Then after completing the designs in illustrator I moved the files to Rhinoceros where I could convert the file to 3d models and get the models cut into wood.
Interestingly enough, I had no prior experience with Rhino or creating 3d models but I have been persistant in teaching myself in order to fulfill the design. It has been a lot more work then I had set out for, but as things finally come together it is well worth the time and effort I have put into this project.
